With degrees from Harvard and University of Denver, I am a social worker and coach specializing in depression recovery. My goal is to help you have more clarity and less suffering.

- Question and mistrust the painful, negative thoughts and beliefs that accompany depression.
- Break free from believing society’s stigma and shame around mental health
- Trust your discernment and intuition and set more self-respecting boundaries
- Use time management tips that increase structure and a sense of control, decreasing feelings of overwhelm.
- Rule out possible biochemical causes of your depression – such as anemia, low thyroid, neurotransmitter imbalance, vitamin deficiencies, low testosterone, menopause, or side effects from another medication
- Prevent or address seasonal affective disorder (The Winter Blues)
- Make doable and sustainable changes in exercise, sleep, nutrition, and weight loss
- Manage and constructively express anger, grief, and other emotions in ways that fight depression
- Make life direction choices that decrease depression. These are choices that increase connection, increase sense of purpose, and line up with what you most love, value, and enjoy
- Take steps to truly improve the health of your relationships – decreasing stress, drama, and depression.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this depression group be depressing?
You might have noticed that people who have experienced a lot of depression can often have great senses of humor. There will be a lot of laughter and inspiration.
This is an empowering, active recovery group, not just an emotional support group. There will be a great deal of rich information about how to unwind old physical, cognitive, emotional, and life choice patterns that have fed depression. We each work to identify what is fueling our particular depression and get the support we need to take the next, doable steps forward.
Who is the group for?
Bouncing Back from Depression is currently designed for people dealing with mild to moderate depression. It is not to take the place of individual counseling.
Will there be much homework?
About 30 – 45 Minutes each week. And if you choose, you are invited to email me a confidential weekly update.
Will I have to share a lot about myself?
It’s totally your choice each time. We address information through discussion and short writing exercises. You will likely end up comfortable enough in the group that it feels more like an inspiring discussion rather than “sharing.” Each person will be screened to assure the group is a great fit and has an easy flow.
